Durorthod landscape
central Michigan

These soils are on sandy glacial outwash plains. Land uses are limited by the low native fertility of the soil. Most cleared land is no longer in use; however the soil does support sugar maple and red maple, red pine and eastern white pine, eastern hemlock, balsam fir, quaking aspen, and white birch.
