Udoll-Aquoll landscape
central Iowa

These soils are on glacial till plains in central Iowa. Poorly drained Aquolls occupy lower-lying landscape positions and Udolls occupy the uplands. In the photo seen here, small sections of Aquolls are located in depressions toward the middle of the photo with Udolls surrounding them, in the majority of the land area. These soils are commonly used for the production of corn and soybeans.
