Typic Udipsamment

This soil occurs in glacial outwash on outwash plains in northern Michigan. The B horizon contains a slight accumulation of sesquioxides and thin coatings of illuvial organic matter; however, the sandy texture prevents this horizon from qualifying as either a cambic or spodic diagnostic horizon.
