Argid/Cambid landscape
central Arizona

This landscape is typical of the arid Basin and Range Province of the US. Soils classified as Argids and Cambids have formed in the alluvial fan at the right edge of the photo. The land surface beyond the fan has a well-developed desert pavement. Native vegetation consists of mesquite and saguaro cactus.
